Continuing the Conversation
‘Continuing the Conversation’ is a collection of essays about the changes that have happened to us after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, about the transformations of artistic practices and about the reflections that arise in the environment of artworks in times of war.
The texts of the authors are written as a dialogue with the exhibition ‘Our Years, Our Words, Our Losses, Our Search, Our Us’ and continue the journey through it, recording important stories and observations about the interdependence of visual images and texts, about artistic communities, about the feelings that accompany art projects, about the role of individuals and their portraits, about the voids in the long history of Ukrainian art.
The publication also contains photographic documentation of the exhibition, works by the artists, selected fragments of discussions from the parallel programme, and a conversation between the curators following the exhibition.
This is the first book in a series of books published by Jam Factory Art Centre and ist publishing in partnership with the ЗMIN Foundation.
